Budget Video Notes

Pre-Production.
  1. Resource Film making: Use what you already have and revolve everything around what you have.
  2. Budget: Know exactly what you have to spend.
  3. Location: What you have access to where you know you can use without a hassle.
  4. List Actors: Know who you can turn to and rely on (e.g. friends and family even).
  5. Equipment: Know if you can borrow any equipment or use what you already have.
  6. Interesting Items: Things you can find and use that could cause a twist or something interesting.
  7. Local Events: Could be used for extras and little footage without hassle
Script Making.
  1. Minimize Locations: Only use 4 or 5 main locations.
  2. Keep characters to a minimum.
  3. Write roles depending on strengths of the actor.
  4. Avoid Scenes With Extras: Make sure you know where you can find extras.
  5. Avoid Exterior Night Scenes: Without correct lighting and equipment it cold not turn out how it may be wanted.
  6. Avoid CGI and Special Effects: Could take a lot of time and money so unless you have access to it already avoid it.
Pre-Production.
  1. Locations Recce: Go and test area that you want to use to see if it is suitable.
  2. Actor and Equipment Availability: Know when you can use everything, if borrowing equipment make sure it is at their suitability.
